First off, I’d like to thank everyone here who supported me in last month’s Movie of the Month Champions contest over at the Large Association of Movie Blogs (The Lamb). With your votes, not only was “Blade Runner” victorious, but the poll recorded more votes than it ever had previously. We set the new record… I believe that just shy of 200 people wound up voting. I’m really really grateful that so many of you went out of your way to help me out by voting, and I needed to lead this post with a huge THANK YOU.

To the victor go the spoils! And in this case, that means a full podcast on one of my favorite movies of all time, Ridley Scott’s “Blade Runner”. Lambcast host Dylan Fields of Man I Love Films,  Steve Honeywell of 1001Plus, Max Covill of Impassioned Cinema, and I break down the movie – what makes it great, what place it holds in cinema, what our favorite parts and characters are, what we think of the numerous different versions, a breakdown of the themes, etc. It’s a very thorough discussion, covering one of the greatest films of all time. I think it came out really well.

If you’d like to listen to this episode, you can stream it and/or download it directly to your computer here, on the Lamb’s podomatic page. You can also search for it on iTunes under the Lambcast. I hope you listen, and hope you enjoy. I know that I had a great time recording it, and look forward to being able to do more Lambcasts in the future with my fellow Lamb members!

    • Yeah, I think it came out pretty good, you know how it goes with those things, you think of 100 things afterwards that you would have like to have said, but… that’s just how it goes.

Thanks for the listen Dave! Glad to hear you’re a Blade Runner fan, too.

  1. Boy, when the masses speak they sometimes speak with wisdom! That dissection of the mighty Blade Runner should be great, looking forward to i!

    • LOL. I hope you enjoy it.

Lets just say I did a bunch of campaigning, although there’s no truth to Dylan’s allegations that I went door to door soliciting votes. Tuh. 🙂 All in good fun.

But yeah, I love this flick, I think we had a great talk about it, check it out!!

When are you gonna get on Radio Dear Film, man? Brian’s out trolling pretty hard for guests, you gotta get on the air!! 🙂

    • Ha!

I actually made some comments based on your views Ian, I went on a little sidetrack about how some people perceive it to be slow.

And then, of course, I gave that point of view full respect and creedence.

(SnggghhhtttKK.) That was hard to type with a straight face 😀 😀

      • Hey, give me some credit. I can fully see the merits of a film like Blade Runner. For example, it would work well for a patient who is about to go into surgery.

  2. Nice Lambcast from everyone. Confession: I got a tingle up my leg when someone mentioned ‘Gattica.’ And YES Sean Young is phenomenal in BRunner. Good cast.
