The 2012 FMR MAJOR Awards: The Worst Actress Winner

Worst Actress Winner

Worst actress. The leading lady who we scrunched our noses up at the most in 2012.

The nominees are: Drew Barrymore, “Big Miracle”, Ashley Greene, “The Apparition”, Katherine Heigl, “One for the Money”, Mila Jovovich, “Resident Evil: Retribution”, and Kristen Stewart, “Snow White and the Huntsman”.

Kristen Stewart, “Snow White and the Huntsman”

Kristen Stewart

There’s really no way around it. Stewart is a bad here. In the spirit of complete disclosure, having never seen a Twilight film (My “Too Much Twilight To Take” blogathon can only be a few months away now!), I would mildly defend Stewart on occasion… seeing as my own experience was limited to “Adventureland”. Here, though, I got the full realization about what everyone was talking about for so long.

As I watched, my thought was… “Oh, yeah, that’s bad.”

She had difficulty expressing any sort of emotional responsiveness at all… it just seemed as if she was struggling. I also noticed that they were working around her. In spite of the movie being called “Snow White”… the focus of the film was split between her, the Wicked Queen and the Huntsman. So, to the films benefit, they actually limited her screen time… and even during her big rousing speech (her big moment), I thought they cut away from her an awful lot.

Smartly.

It just seems as if she’s un-emotive, bland, and stiff. In short, at least here… she comes across as if she can’t act. Which is why, I presume, she’s earned such a reputation for herself.

The others were bad, too. Drew Barrymore offered us next to nothing in the family friendly “Big Miracle”, and I actively wondered how long she would continue her acting career. Ashley Greene isn’t going to last long in Hollywood with roles like these, so at least I doubt we’ll have to concern ourselves with her for long. Katherine Heigl illuminated me as to why everyone hates on her, as did Milla Jovovich, although I have to say, at least Milla gave me a laugh.

Leg LampKristen_StewartBut none of them could top Kristen Stewart, who could almost have been replaced by a cardboard standee of herself and no one would notice.

  1. Hi, Fogs and company: ๐Ÿ˜€

Perhaps you could come up with a poll for a marketable “Cheezfest” title for a proposed “Twilight’ marathon?

    I humbly submit, “Gorgonzola~Palooza”.

Also, as an idea for a future film. Have Ms. Stewart somewhere on a stark desert plain. In very tight skinny, jeans, stiletto hooker heels and a very skimpy top. Shot completely from the back. A villainess patiently waiting for for a final showdown. With absolutely no lines of script or dialogue!

Seems to me, that is all that her talents can handle.

    • LOLLL!! ๐Ÿ˜€ That’s… whacked out and funny as hell, both at the same time, Jack. ๐Ÿ˜€ Ha!

I would support the cheese-fest promotional angle, IF I knew for myself that the films were going to be cheesey! I’ll tell you… I’m hoping. If I can get the “So bad they’re good” out of them? It’ll be fun. If I sit there and writhe in pain, it’s going to be a LONNNG day. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Time will tell, buddy, Time will tell.

      • LOL

I do wish to point out at this time that the event has already been titled (Too Much Twilight To Take?), but perhaps we should come up with some future event where it’s more fun oriented and just load a day up with like “Flash Gordon” and “Con Air” and things like that. LOL

      • ‘all things cheese’ ; sounds like a quaint NPR piece. LOL
got it TMTTT already the namesake. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. Good luck with the Twilight marathon. I couldn’t even finish watching the first one because I kept falling asleep (it was that freakin’ boring). Congrats to Stephanie Meyer for somehow managing to make a romance involving a vampire boring as hell (not an easy feat).

    • You know what’s funny? Her new movie looks like crap, too. “The Host”? I saw the trailer for that and it looks awful. And then they’re promoting it was based off of her book and I had to laugh, I thought… yeah, that explains things. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

    • Yeah, it did turn out to be something of a lynch mob.

Of course, the commenters aren’t Trolls though, they’re people who frequent the site and comment on posts fairly regularly.

They just happen not to care for Stewart! LOL ๐Ÿ˜€
