New Episode of The (title pending) Movie Podcast with Tank and Fogs!!

PodcastGreetings, everyone. Here is the latest episode of the Lammy nominated (title pending) Movie Podcast for your listening pleasure! That’s right, for the second year in a row, (title pending) has been nominated for Best Podcast by the Large Association of Movie Blogs!

To celebrate, and to announce our intentions to the rest of nominees, we have this year’s Lammy campaign song “Show With No Title” (get your earplugs out). That’s right, following in the proud tradition of last year’s “Nom or Lammy”, we decide that the best way to earn Lammy votes is to assail the listeners with song!

Following that of course, we have our reviews of “Place Beyond the Pines”, “Scary Movie 5” and “42”! We wrap everything up this week with a discussion of baseball players in the movies by holding a TPMP draft of baseball movie characters! It’s a segment that turned out to be a great deal of fun!

It’s a great episode and you won’t want to miss it! As always, you can download it directly, here, or search for us on iTunes or Stitcher radio by looking for (title pending) or Tank and Fogs!

  1. Can’t wait to hear it. You drafting baseball characters, or actors in baseball movies? If actors, and Costner doesn’t go No. 1, I’m calling shenanigans!

  2. Finished listening during lunch, and since then once again I’ve been putting a list together instead of doing the job that my poor employers have been paying me to do.

Here’s my team, not duplicating any of the guys you mentioned. By the way, “Show With No Title” was more of a train wreck than “Superman Returns”.

Just joking. Actually, at least Superman saved that space plane.

C Jake Tayor, Major League (Tom Berenger)
1B Scott Hatteburg, Moneyball (Chris Pratt)
2B Dennis Ryan, Take Me Out To The Ballgame (Frank Sinatra)
SS Eddie O’Brien, Take Me Out To The Ballgame (Gene Kelly)
3B Buck Weaver, Eight Men Out (John Cusak)
LF Jim Piersall, Fear Strikes Out (Anthony Perkins)
CF Ty Cobb, Cobb (Tommy Lee Jones) – from flashback scenes, natch
RF Roger Maris, *61 (Barry Pepper)
DH Reggie Jackson, Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (himself)
SP Henry Wiggen, Bang The Drum Slowly (Michael Moriarty)
RP Henry Rowengartner, Rookie of the Year (Thomas Ian Nicholas)
Manager Kid Gleason, Eight Men Out (John Mahoney)

I couldn’t resist Sinatra and Kelly dancing around the keystone.

Obviously the team may have some clubhouse issues. Piersall is bi-polar, Cobb is a racist, and Jackson has been brainwashed to kill the Queen of England. I’m hoping well-known clubhouse psychologists Jake Taylor and Henry Wiggen can keep everyone on the same page. Also praying that Rowenfgartner’s shoulder tendons stay tight.

    • Hey “Show With No Title” is a massive train wreck, dont sell it short. LOL

That’s a hell of a list, I think we’d have to debate the inclusion of *61, as it was made for HBO (otherwise I’d have been drafting Mickey Mantle, myself LOL)

Outside of that, it is a hell of a list. Obviously there will be some issues, as you mention. I still think you’d easily beat Tanski’s squad, as he showed no compunction about choosing children from kid’s baseball movies. LOL. Some easy outs to be made, there, I think 😉

Glad to hear I’m destroying productivity. Nothing makes me happier! 😀

      • I thought I drafted him… If I held out, it was because Tank tipped his hand and said his lineup was all fictional players. Thus I knew the players I was looking at that were biographical were safe. Dropped them to the end. 😉
