  1. Yeah, Temple of Doom is a bad movie and every time I see it I think it gets worse. It’s only redeeming qualities are Harrison Ford’s performance and the glee with which Mola Ram goes about his evil ways.

And Tank’s right, the drop from the plane in the raft is every bit as dumb as the nuked fridge.

Good ‘cast though, entertaining as usual.

  2. You almost have me talked into Fast 6 or whatever it is called. I have not seen any since the first one and I barely remember it, will I be confused the whole time or does it stand by itself enough that a casual viewer can pick it up?

  3. Enjoyed it as always. πŸ™‚

kid sidekicks are neutral in my opinion; here’s my take on a few
Phantom Menace: weak even with strong scene – pod race, Jake Lloyd
cop and a half: weak movie ; average performance
sidekicks: nice idea; poor execution even by norris
batman and robin conceptually good; execution is flat
last action hero: so-so film; average performance
ai: Osmet is so-so in scifi here
short round: keeps the story moving at pace
dreamer: Fanning is tremendous even with schmaltz
kick ass: strong going from jv thug thumper to varsity crime fighter; evidenced by sequel
the sixth sense: superb ; Willis + Osmet = bank
Iconic Scenes from Memorial Day Movie Pics Recap:
10 Back to the Future 3: Good use of time travel and use of Eastwood name for showdown in Old West
9 Beverly Hills Cop 2: fine reunion of cast with Taggart, Foley, Bogamil, and Rosewood with Billy going Cobra
8 Bruce Almighty: making Carrell’s character speak gibberish sets stage for film and for Evan in sequel
7 Indiana Jones Temple: shaman pulling a beating heart out of living human chest; movie is not holding up as well as 1 and 3 are
6 Mission Impossible: Cruise becomes an action star drops from ceiling wires & parodied in many films since
5 Rambo: Over the top sequel; Stallone ‘in country’ holding M16 in one hand spraying enemy
    4 Braveheart: Ending; prebattle speech
3 Indiana Jones Crusade: winning movie formula just add Sean Connery and stir
2 Rocky 3: Enter Mr T “I pity the fool”; prediction – “pain”; unforgettable song Eye of the Tiger
1 Return of the Jedi: ewoks; Luke [spoiler alert πŸ™‚ ] defeats and turns father back to good

  4. There you go! Top Ten Kid Sidekicks! I can see it now. Only, can I find ten I LIKE? 😯

Kick Ass, Temple of Doom… well, we’re 1/5th of the way there, maybe I should put that thought on hold for now.

Osment is a lead in AI, not a sidekick. πŸ˜‰

So you’re in the Temple of Doom is sliding from where it once was camp. Nice. So am I.

Mr T does make Rocky III πŸ˜€ I couldn’t do a “Memorable” scenes from that movie, I’d start at the beginning when they have the flashback to Rocky winning and then the montage of him defending his title, and Paulie going to jail for smashing the pinball machine an throwing the “exlax” watch on the ground to the legendary “What Favor?” scene at the end. LOL

    Ding Ding. πŸ˜‰

  5. I’m glad Tank called people out for complaining about being too similar in Hangover 2 then complaining about it not being similar enough in 3. That’s been annoying me.

But then Fogs, you make it out like Hangover 3 was drastically different. Was it really? They still had a set up where they were put in a situation where they had to get their friend back, still had a mystery to solve in order to do it, still had wacky things happen along the way… Its no where near having RotJ set on earth.

Man, I loved your enthusiasm for Fast 6. I still have zero desire to see it, but I do have a desire to keep listening. This is why you win awards.

    • LOL. It’s ok if you don’t buy in to the FF6 madness, Ian. I gotta call it like I see it though. Those movies are ridiculously entertaining πŸ˜€

Meanwhile, there were a few beats the same in Hangover III, but not enough for me… I wasn’t one of the ones calling II out for being “Copycat”, I liked II! (Tank made a great point about the hypocrisy) So, without drunkenness, this was way different to me…

And thanks man, this is why we keep cranking them out!

  6. This was the first episode of your podcast I’ve listened to and I really liked it! You guys have a great chemistry so that’s very entertaining.
I’m not completely convinced to see Fast and Furious 6 yet… But you did make an effort to try and convince people to watch it.

    • Thanks Mettemk, we try our best!

You’ve got nothing to lose on Fast 6. Wait til it comes out at home and see if you cant laugh along with it. Its a blast. πŸ˜€

      Thanks for listening!
