A motley crew composed of a drug dealer, a geeky virgin, a stripper and a homeless runaway team up to smuggle an enormous shipment of marijuana across the Mexican border, posing as a family. As you can imagine, they wind up being more than a little dysfunctional as a unit. Comedy ensues as they try to evade angry drug dealers, get past border guards, elude the DEA, and of course, deal with each other.

21 Jump Street
Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum play a couple of high school classmates who find themselves thrust back into the high school fish tank years after graduating – this time as undercover cops. But their investigation isn’t the only thing they have to figure out. They find that they have residual issues from their own high school experiences that they need to work through, and of course, they need to figure out how to deal with each other.
It makes for a surprisingly funny movie that entertains all the way through.
Casa de mi Padre
Will Farrell goes to Mexico, fights drug barons, speaks spanish, sings by a campfire and gets into gun fights. It’s a silly (and funny) enough concept as it is, but he and his team put together a movie that mocks the low production values of the genre, and then take some extreme liberties by moving the film occasionally into the surreal.
It’s a high risk comedy. If it connects, you’ll likely find it hysterical. If you don’t, you’ll likely think it’s a travesty.
One thing is for sure though… Will Ferrell haters need not apply.
