A new Superman inherits the cape in an epic, dark, angst-filled drama.
I struggled with the somber tone of “Man of Steel”, but have to concede that it’s a potent, action packed film.

Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe square off as a fallen ex-cop and a corrupt mayor in this tale of political intrigue, suspense and conspiracy.
Except without the political intrigue, suspense and conspiracy.
Ok, boys and girls. The Holiday Season is over… and the Spring Season, full of mini Blockbusters, is still months away.
Between now and then lies Hollywood’s dumping ground. The Hollywood fields lie fallow in the winter, bearing little quality product. It’s the two months of the year we need to “Get through”. While January typically offers some limited releases from the prior year going wide, there’s typically little else to get excited over.
Will this year be different? Are there any movies to get excited about these next two months? Let’s take a look at the release slate and see what we’ve got!

Come to Los Angeles! The sun shines bright, the beaches are wide and inviting, and the orange groves stretch as far as the eye can see. There are jobs aplenty, and land is cheap. Every working man can have his own house, and inside every house, a happy, all-American family. You can have all this, and who knows… you could even be discovered, become a movie star… or at least see one. Life is good in Los Angeles… it’s paradise on Earth.
Heh heh heh. That’s what they tell you, anyway.
Hyper-stylized, comically violent, and chock full of crazy, kung fu characters, “The Man with the Iron Fists” knows what it is, and knows why the people watching bought their ticket. It’s fun in a tongue in cheek kind of way, as characters with names like “Bronze Body”, “Silver Lion”, and “Jack Knife” fight using all manner of fantastical weaponry and wire work.
Certainly silly at times, but entertaining in its own kind of fashion.
Ok folks, here we go. Part II of the 2012 Fall Movie Preview. Today we’ll break down all the major releases on tap for the month of October, and the first week of November!
As you might imagine, it’s a diverse bunch. There are some ahead that look intriguing, and some that might as well be announcing that they’re garbage already, LOL. Let’s have a look and see if we can’t sort out what’s what!!
