Hope Springs

“Hope Springs” is a sexagenarian romance/sex comedy starring Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones as an elderly couple who seek counseling in order to resurrect their stagnant marriage. They travel across the country to visit a renowned author and counselor (played by Steve Carell), and begin the arduous process of working out their intimacy issues.

Men in Black III

The Men in Black are back, and they’re up to their old tricks. Battling aliens, zapping people’s memories, and having witty exchanges between one another. For people who are fans of the first two, this movie should deliver what you’re expecting – it’s pretty much a healthy dose of “More of the Same”.

It sets the bar for itself low, jumps over it easily, and then happily accepts the “Hey, ok,” that most audiences are bound to give it.

I truly began to suspect there was something wrong with the post-Captain America-transformation part of the film.

Nah. Nope. Not really.

“Captain America: The First Avenger” is a really solid, fun Superhero movie. It won’t crack my top ten in the genre, but there’s nothing for Marvel/Disney to be ashamed of here. It’s a fun summer movie, does justice by the comic book character, and serves to further set up the upcoming “Avengers” movie (as if it needed it.)
