Welcome back to “Directors Talk”! The roundtable discussion series I participate in with PG Cooper of PG Cooper’s Movie Reviews and Ian the Cool of Ian’s Lists, Bits and Reels…

In this series, we trade thoughts about the biggest directors working today. This time up we happen to have one of the greatest directors of all time, Steven Spielberg!

Spielberg has an arsenal of classics to choose from. His filmography is brimming with the most popular films of all time. He’s a two-time Oscar winner with numerous nominations, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down.

War Horse

I might have to recuse myself from this review.

Honestly, I’m not the guy you want reviewing a film like this. I’m not the guy that’s going to be “moved” watching teary eyed people talking about their ‘orse like it was %#$&ing Ghandi while the sun sets behind them and weepy orchestral music pours out of every freaking scene.

I’m the guy in the back with his feet up and his arms crossed thinking. “It’s. A. Horse. People.”

That said, if you can stomach the suffocating, sledgehammer sentimentality, “War Horse” is a well put together film that people less cynical than I am will probably like a lot more than I did.

2011 Holiday Movie Season Preview!!

This year, the start of the Holiday Movie season is November 18^th. That’s NEXT weekend already folks!! That’s when Hollywood releases “Happy Feet Two” and “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1”, two movies with valid expectations of large takes at the gate. The start of the second blockbuster season of the year!

Here are the movies coming up this Holiday Season that I’m most excited for. Check out Wednesday, December 21^st! “The Adventures of Tintin”, “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”, and “Mission Impossible, Ghost Protocol”! That’s going to be a busy day!
