The Top Ten Zombie Movies

BT-Top-10-May-2012With the impending release of “World War Z”, I thought the timing was perfect to do a top ten of one of my favorite types of horror movies, the Zombie Movie!

Believe it or not, Zombie movies are actually a pretty diverse sub-genre. They range from straight up horror movies and gorefests to low-budget campy films to outright comedies. Hell, earlier this year there was even a Zombie rom com (“Warm Bodies”)!

To order our nominee announcement and awards presentation threads over the next couple of weeks here, I decided let’s let the “Worsts” go first, and Ladies before Gentlemen.

Thus I present to you the nominees in our first category for the inaugural FMR MAJOR Awards. The most disappointing movies of the year, all vying to be called “The Biggest Disappointment.”

News Worth Sharing: The first pic of the new Superman

So, just as I made my first post here yesterday about the upcoming Superman movie, the WB today release the first image of Henry Cavill wearing the suit for the upcoming “Man of Steel: No, Superman doesn’t have any kids”

I’m fine with the outfit… I am curious if they hired William Forsythe’s hair stylist though.

The one thing that kind of bugs me a little is that the setting of the photo seems to support the whole “darker and edgier” bullshit that Warner Brothers has apparently latched onto. Newsflash to Warner Brothers, people did not go to see Batman because it was dark and edgy. They went because it was true to the character (and that particular character happens to be dark and edgy) and because it was GOOD.

News Worth Sharing: Laurence Fishburne cast as Perry White

Yesterday the news broke that Laurence Fishburne has been cast as Daily Planet Editor Perry White in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman film, “Man of Steel: Please Make Me Forget ‘Superman Returns’ “.

Ok, Ok, it’s tentatively called “Man of Steel” right now… but that’s what we’re all thinking.

Fishburne fills out what is becoming an absolutely loaded cast. Henry Cavill (The Tudors) will play Superman, and he’s probably the biggest unknown. Amy Adams will play Lois Lane and Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire, The Runaways) will be General Zod. Providing the family wisdom from Smallville will be Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Ma and Pa Kent.

Oh. And the movie is being produced by Christopher Nolan. Yep.
